Website privacy notice
Last updated 25 August 2026
1. Who we are
Battlement Software is a pre-launch software project operated by Sam Kelly in England and Wales. It is not currently a registered company or a separate legal entity. Sam Kelly is the data controller for personal information handled through battlement-software.com.
You can contact the controller using the privacy contact form.
2. Information we collect
This website collects information only when you choose to send it through the contact form: your name, email address, selected enquiry type, message, privacy acknowledgement and any optional marketing choice.
Netlify may also process basic technical and security information needed to serve and protect the website, such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, timestamps and security events.
You are not legally or contractually required to use the form. Without the required name, email address and message, however, we may be unable to identify or respond to your enquiry.
3. How and why we use it
We use contact details and message content to respond to enquiries, provide support, handle privacy requests, send a specifically requested PetPulse launch notification and maintain an appropriate record of correspondence. We rely on legitimate interests in operating and protecting the project, or on steps taken at your request before providing a service.
We do not use the form for solely automated decisions or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Product news and marketing
Selecting “PetPulse / launch notification” requests a single message about PetPulse’s launch. It does not by itself subscribe you to recurring marketing.
We send occasional promotional email only where you separately tick the optional marketing box. That processing relies on consent. You can withdraw consent at any time by replying to a message or using the contact form. Every promotional message will identify Battlement and explain how to opt out.
6. How long we keep it
- ordinary enquiries: up to 12 months;
- product-support correspondence: up to 24 months;
- privacy or legal correspondence: up to 3 years where needed to demonstrate compliance or manage legal claims; and
- unconverted PetPulse launch-interest records: no later than 12 months after launch.
We may keep information longer where law requires it or while a relevant dispute is active. When a period ends, we delete or anonymise the information and regularly clear the corresponding Netlify submissions.
8. Your rights
Depending on your circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to access, correct or erase personal information, restrict or object to processing, and receive certain information in a portable form. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity before acting on a request.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. People outside the UK may also have rights under local law.
9. Contact and changes
Use the privacy contact form for questions, rights requests or marketing withdrawals. We may update this notice as the website and services change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
PetPulse is still in internal testing. Its separate pre-launch privacy notice describes the current plan and will be updated before public release.
